What can M3 Launch do for me?

  1. Create Microsoft PowerPoint presentations (dependant on version):

    • Sometimes, you have an order of worship set up and you need to put all of the presentations into one file.  By choosing multiple presentations from a single directory, you can put together a single presentation in less than a minute (depending on computer speed and how many/how large the presentations are) (we tested on presentations of five or more slides, and chose 25 presentations, using a Pentium III 750 MHz with 256 MB of RAM and created the presentation in 28 seconds) (available in all versions, even the trial).

    • By using regular text files (filename.txt) set up in a predetermined fashion, as described below, you can create presentations in less than 10 seconds a piece (dependant on processor speed and memory) (requires Advanced Version)

      • Text file setup as "Title" on first line (which will be the title of the presentation on the first slide)

      • Blank line between title each paragraph following, which translates into one slide per paragraph

      • You can set up the text file in ANY fashion:

            Title

            Blank Line

            Verse One

            Blank Line

            Chorus

            Blank Line

            Verse Two

            Blank Line

            Chorus

            Blank Line

            Bridge

            Blank Line

            Chorus

                or

            Title

            Blank Line

            Verse One

            Blank Line

            Verse Two

            Blank Line

            Verse Three

            Blank Line

            Verse Four

      • And apply any Microsoft PowerPoint template (either default or one you created)

      • And get the result of:

        AmazingGrace.gif (81568 bytes)

  2. Launch (open for viewing as a slide show) a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation in less than six seconds.

    LaunchPic.gif (34560 bytes)

    • If you a running Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition or higher, and Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 or higher, you can utilize dual monitors which will give you a screen to edit/follow and a screen to view (contact for details on how to setup a dual monitor system) a PowerPoint presentation.

    • Once the presentation is running, there is a process that takes place that we call the "Slide Follow Option" (which can be disabled from the program, not available for use with PowerPoint 97).

      • This feature, a big part of what makes M3 Launch so special, will highlight what slide you are on when viewing the slide show (especially helpful on dual monitors).  When the slide show is on slide 10, the slide sorter view on PowerPoint is highlighting slide number 10 (M3 Launch will always keep the PowerPoint window, the one for editing, in the slide sorter view).  When you need to change to the next slide, previous slide, or if you need to skip slides, this will follow your slide selection.  Also, if you single-click on a slide in the slide sorter window, it will change it on the presentation screen as well.

      • Please note that if you need to edit a slide and try to double-click the slide, it will activate that slide on the screen and then put the viewer back into slide sorter mode.  In order to edit, you must first go to the program window and click the "Disable Slide Follow Option" check box, then go back to PowerPoint and edit the slide you want.  When you are done, be sure to be on the slide you want on the screen, then click the "Disable Slide Follow Option" check box again, and this will activate the slide sorter view again.

    • There is also an option to View/Edit a presentation without activating the slide show, and that is the "View/Edit" button which will open the presentation for editing before launching it.

    • Some features are available once you have upgraded to other versions such as an option to close PowerPoint when 'Esc' closes a slide show, this can be good for when you are running a single presentation at a time.  There is a feature that will show the first slide that will allow you to launch the presentation by double-clicking the picture (later versions will show the entire presentation on the M3 Launch program interface and allow you to open a presentation to the selected slide).

    • Common features throughout all versions include:

      • "Disable Slide Follow Option" as explained above

      • Sort presentation titles by A-Z, All Files, a text line to type in the name of the song that will sort to the song in that current directory (then press the Enter key to launch), or just scroll through the presentations until you find what you are looking for.

      • Two to four buttons for presentation locations (we use all four at our home church: button one for Sermons, button two for Songs by First Sentence, button three for Songs by Title and button four for Miscellaneous presentations).

        • Note that the Trial version has one button, and it will not save the directory information when you exit.  The Lite version has two buttons and they will save the directory information when you exit, as will the other three versions, which all have four buttons.

      • "Sorry to Interrupt" button

        • This is used to display 1 of 3 predefined messages all with "Sorry for the Interruption..." at the top of this "Fog" colored slide:

          1. Will the parents of (you fill in the name) please go to your child's classroom.

          2. The owner of (you fill in license and make/model if needed) your lights are on.

          3. The owner of (you fill in license and make/model if needed) please move your vehicle.

            or

        • If you need to add in your own message, like "Please be sure to turn your cell phones and pagers off during the sermon.", there is a free text box that will allow you to type in your own message.

  3. Maintain you presentations with ease...

    • There are currently two features available to keep your presentations up to date, and changes can be made very fast (currently not available with PowerPoint XP due to some program changes, but don't worry, we'll figure it out).

      • One:

        • Change Templates on one presentation or all of your presentations and this can be done at an astonishing rate of 100 presentations per minute!  If you need all of your presentations to have the same template, or if you want, you can make each one use a different template.

      • Two:

        • Add/Change Blank Slides at the beginning and end of a presentation.

          • This can be useful when you want to make multiple presentations into one and need a blank slide between each inserted presentation.

          • If you are doing a theme service and want all the blanks between songs to be the same, just create a single slide and then insert as the blank slide.

          • All you have to do is choose where you want the blank to go (front or back), choose what presentations you want to add or change the blank on (be careful, if you try to change a blank, that may actually be your first verse, you could lose that slide, however, there is an option to save it to another location!), choose where to save the new presentations to, choose the "blank" slide you want to use as the template (if you choose a "blank" that is more than one slide, like a 10 slide presentation, this will insert all 10 slides), and press the Add Blank or Change Blank button then just watch it go.
