Termite Baiting Programs

Have you seen the commercials about Termite Baiting?  Maybe you called, got some information or went searching on the web for more information, something you could understand.

If you had set an appointment and were explained all the wonderful benefits, then hit with the high cost of a termite baiting program realizing it was an extended plan, ouch.

What was the deal offered to you?  Just the baiting program with the inspection costs that go on and on?  How much did they quote you?  Double Ouch!

Yes, we know the cost, that is why we developed this part of our web site.  We can offer you more than most other companies.  The first thing we offer is a real termite inspection, why bait if they are already in the structure.

Don't worry, if you call us we won't send a 'salesman' or someone who will pressure you to buy something you don't need or want.

We will send someone who can answer your questions, offer suggestions and set up a program that's right for you and then we'll give you a fair price.

Did you know that you can have the work done  that includes the 'bait' in the Termiticide that will eliminate your problem within a few months rather that years?  Many changes coming in 2008, these changes are for the good of the property owners if prices are kept affordable.

In the past (pre-1980) there was Chlordane, the material used to stop the invasion of subterranean termites into the structure.  Chlordane lasted so long and did the job but EPA testing found Chlordane caused health related problems.

After Chlordane there have been many different materials and products used to control subterranean termites.  These products worked but we are not really sure how long will they will actually last, how long will they protect your structure before the materials break down which they are made to do?

Do the new materials work as well as Chlordane?  We would have to say yes and no, because we don't really know.  That's another subject.

This Spring and Summer we will hear more about 'termite baiting' on radio and TV, this is when termites are most active and swarming.  We hear how this baiting program will get rid of the termites by eliminating the colony rather than putting up a chemical barrier to 'block' termites from getting into your home or business structure.

Training within our industry tell us of new and updated Termite Baiting Systems, we see the original systems changing to make them 'work better' and there will always be changes.  Depending on which company you called, it will be what that company uses for baiting that will become the focus of the sales pitch.  They all work or they wouldn't be on the market.

Talking to homeowners, their main concern has been the high cost of installing these baiting systems and the on going costs for inspections.  Some people are not really convinced and wondered if these systems would actually work.

The idea of killing off the colony is not understood because people don't understand why termites continue to expand their colony size, the many colonies and how subterranean termites really effect us.

As we enter 2008, more companies offer baiting programs, more systems are now on the market with other companies selling programs directly to the homeowner and people ask if those type of homeowner installed systems work?

Here is the answer, plain and simple.  If any insect is to be controlled, whether blocking it from coming into the structure or eliminating it altogether, it must somehow  touch the Pesticide or Termicide.

Once the insects come in contact with the Pesticide or Termicide, the insect will take particles upon itself that will be absorbed into the body, ingest these materials by eating the materials treated (such as termites ingesting wood or particles with Termicide) ingest through eating bait materials or materials being transferred from one insect to another (such as ants grooming each other).

Pest Control * Plus is proud to offer the Termidor Termite Treatment plan, a Termiticide that has revolutionized the industry.  A non-repellent, so termites can't smell, see, or feel it as they forage freely in a treated zone.  With a single application, Termidor delivers 100% control, and delivers results in 3 months or less.

Yes, we also offer Termite Baiting programs that shows to be effective and can be used with a liquid termite treatment program as an added benefit or a stand alone program.

Available programs from Pest Control * Plus are available in the southern New Jersey areas of Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties.

In the Philadelphia and surrounding counties through Pest Control * Plus or one of our affiliate companies.

Liquid treatment verses Baiting treatment, which is actually the best for you and your property?  Most important we design programs to fit the need.

Depending on the structure, the stations are placed around the structure and areas where termites are most likely present such as wood piles, old stumps, dead trees, mulched areas, etc.

Call or contact us for a no-cost inspection, this is how it begins.  We will help design a program that will work best for your home or business.

Every house and building can be different, even those structures treated in the past might need to be retreated in part or brought up to current Label and State Regulations continuing to protect from subterranean termite attacks.

For information on the internet be sure to stay in your region of the United States as information may vary from one area to another, information as products, treatment, regulations, etc.

For University of Kentucky Entomology Department

These are only two site that may also answer your questions pertaining to our local problems with termites as the University of Kentucky site is designed for homeowners although the baiting program section offer very little about the products available today and the Termidor solution which provides the 'baiting' effect in the solution.

Pest Control * Plus offers termite treatment, termite baiting programs, inspections and when needed the written reports for sale or refinancing of your property.  Simple and easy to understand written Inspection Reports that include the Wood Destroying Insect Report (the 'certification') necessary for settlement on the sale or refinancing of your property.

Pest control services are also available including spraying for ticks, fleas, mites and crickets.  One time, specialized and short term programs are also available.  Click on 'Pest Control'' for more information.
